The great big scrabble bingo stem matrix: Learn good bingo words the other direction!

Typically, when people set out to learn bingo stems, they focus on the stem, and then learn the words for each letter that can make a bingo when combined with the stem. For instance, SATINE + A gives you entasia and taenias. Then you move onto SATINE + B for banties and basinet…and so forth. Eventually, you may learn all 69 words for the SATINE bingo stem. The dreaded letter V: Strategies for learning V words

If the C is hard to play, the V is even harder. Like its sibling, the C, the V cannot be used to form a two letter word. This means you have to work even harder to make good use of it on the board. The dreaded letter C: Learning words that end with C

There are only two letters in Scrabble and its variants that cannot be used to form a two-letter word: the letters C and V. This makes them considerably less useful. They are harder to dump if you just want to to get rid of them, and more difficult to form parallel plays with. The C has additional challenges in that a C often needs an H or a K to go with it. Five Cross-platform Scrabble and Scrabble Alternatives for iPhone and Android

Android and iPhone users have no shortage of great Scrabble and Scrabble-alternatives. Though purists may hold that Scrabble is the only game in town, many of these alternatives are definitely worth a look, and, in my estimation, exceed Hasbro’s official Scrabble app in features and playability. They build on the same essential word skills and often provide a better overall playing experience, depending on the features you are looking for. For this review, I briefly look at five competing games that crossword game players should take a look at. The primary selection criteria for this review is that all five of these are available for iPhone and Android devices, so you can play your friends regardless of whether they are iPhone or Android users.
